Sales Agronomist

Northern Resources Cooperative is currently searching for a Sales Agronomist. This role is responsible for building strong customer relationships and selling chemical, fertilizer, and seed products. 

To be an effective Sales Agronomist, the candidate should be focused on developing and promoting better farming practices that result in greater success for our customers. A top-notch agronomist should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and analytical with excellent listening, communication, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate isn’t the one with the most experience for this job, it’s someone who is dedicated to building relationships, garnering trust, and communicating well.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Build meaningful customer relationships based on trust, clear communication, and quality service. 
• Provide outstanding customer service. 
• Monitor and inspect customer fields during growing season. 
• Gather samples for nutritional deficiencies, diseases, or other changes.
• Gain knowledge to provide product and service recommendations to customers to improve growth and profitability for producers and the cooperative.
• Sell inputs such as seed, crop nutrients, and crop protection products.
• Work with producers to improve crop yield and solve customer problems.
• Work cross functionally as a team to help serve all customer needs.
• Keep detailed records regarding fields, customers, crops, and samples.
• Generate reports and presenting findings to management, customers, or other interested parties.
• Promote technology and tools that support customers and improve production.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player. 
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work outside, stand, walk, kneel, and stoop for extended periods.
• Proficiency with computers, especially MS Office software.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Strong decision making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Awareness of industry trends, technology, and developments.
• Extended hours during peak season are required. 

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, agriculture, or related experience is preferred but not required. Northern Resources Cooperative is prepared to train the right candidate with great people and sales skills.

Compensation: $50,000 - $90,000 based on experience & a competitive benefits package included.
